Carlyn Lloyd, flute
Carlyn Lloyd has been heard in performances on radio station WNIB with Karl Haas and on station WFMT as part of their Dame Myra Hess and Live From Studio One Series. Ms. Lloyd has served on the faculty of the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, and the Hinsdale Center for the Arts. She has written many arrangements of popular and classical music for Arianna as well as her woodwind quintet, Quintuplex, and has also written and performed several arrangements for solo flute and concert band. Ms. Lloyd’s articles are published in “Flute Talk” magazine, a subsidiary of the Instrumentalist. Carlyn Lloyd is a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the National Flute Association, and is listed in the International Who’s Who in Music, the Who’s Who in American Music, the Who’s Who in Entertainment, and is an honored member of America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals.
Cellist, Jill Kaeding is known for her versatility in all mediums of music. She played for seventeen years with “Corky Siegel’s Chamber Blues”, touring throughout North America and Europe, including performances at the Montreal Jazz Festival. Jill is a member of the HAWK String Quartet, which has joined forces with Jim Gailloreto, saxophonist/composer to form Jazz String Quintet, an award winning blend of original “jazz chamber music”. As a free lancing musician she has performed with a number of local orchestras, musical theater productions and with many national artists including: Ray Charles, Lyle Lovett, Garth Brooks, Poi Dog Pondering, Kurt Elling, Faith Hill and on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
Jon Warfel, pianist, maintains an active performing schedule as both piano soloist and accompanist. He has toured the United States as piano soloist and has performed piano concertos with several Illinois orchestras. He attended Northern Illinois University where he obtained his B. M. and M. M. in piano performance as a student of Donald Walker, and where in 1992 he was chosen Outstanding Young Alumni. He continued his studies at Northwestern University, participating in Master Classes at the Ravinia Music Festival. In 1977, Mr. Warfel joined the faculty of Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, IL where he is Director of Choral Activities and Instructor of Piano and also teaches classes in music and the humanities. In 1995 he was chosen Faculty Member of the Year. A former Music Director of the Fox Valley Festival Chorus, he now serves as assistant director of the Naperville Chorus and director of the Naperville Chamber Singers. He performs regularly with various groups including the “Buffalo Shufflers, a Roaring Twenties Show Band,” that has been featured on symphonic pops concerts throughout the country with many outstanding orchestras. In addition to his work as accompanist, soloist, choral clinician and orchestral and choral conductor Mr. Warfel currently serves as Organist/Choirmaster at First Congregational Church of Elgin, IL.
